 2018 / 2019 Program Offerings

From Mites to Midgets

The Mission:

The objective of the Rhode Island Saints Hockey program is to provide a highly competitive and supportive environment where players of all age groups can maximize the development of their individual athletic skills.

The successful player must possess integrity, strength of character and a strong work ethic in order to realize the full benefits of the Saints development program.

The player development program objectives are achieved through an expansive and intensive practice and player training regimen under the direction and supervision of the dedicated staff of highly respected professionals.

The Program:

The emphasis of the development program, which currently operates out of three rinks West Warwick, Smithfield, and Cranston, has been, and will continue to be, individual skill development. The program is structured to allow each skater to develop and test their skills in high-level Regional, National and International competition.

The Program Structure:

  • Team Practices:  teams practice 2 times per week (52 practices over 26 weeks). Practices are used to reinforce the basic skill sessions and to coordinate the systems used for team play. These practices are conducted by the coaching staff.
  • Peter Belisle Skills Sessions: Throughout the season, each player's skating and skill development continues through a weekly series of Power Skating and skills sessions. These sessions are conducted by UMASS Boston Head Coach Peter Belisle for 23 weeks.
  • Parisi Speed School: “TRAIN TO WIN!” The industry leader in youth sports performance is designed to enhance any aspect of our player's on and off-season game through a proven, trusted series of exercises focused on Speed, Agility, Flexibility & Mobility, Strength Training, Conditioning, and injury prevention.  Taking advantage of our weekly program ensures players are playing at peak performance. (26 Sessions)
  • Goaltending Training:  Brian Larence will handle all our goaltending training for the Saints program. Under the watchful eye of Brian, Saints goalies will enjoy a system - second to none - that develops youth net minders in an environment where they are challenged.
  • Outstanding Competition:  The Saints play in the top youth hockey league in New England, E9/Boston Hockey League. Home games are typically at Levy Rink in Burrillville.
  • Saints Summer Kick-off Conditioning Camp:  A week-long pre-season training camp is used to begin furthering skill development through the introduction and practice of individual drills. The camp is also where basic hockey systems that will be used throughout the season are introduced. The camp is run by local college coaches from the New England area.

The Rhode Island Saints will be fielding teams from Mites through Midgets for the 2018/19 season in the E9/BHL.  The Rhode Island Saints are the only organization in Rhode Island to compete in the E9/BHL.  Elite hockey can cost anywhere from $3500 to $5000 a year in other organizations.  The RI Saints provide Elite Hockey at fraction of the cost for your family.
